Overview
Next week we'll be pushing out some improvements to the Kuali Research Dashboard; specifically to the Search Records tab and the Proposal workload assignments card. Below outlines the changes in each area of the dashboard.
Search
The OmniSearch tool available in the Search Records tab of the dashboard will be updated so that the first column in search results will always be a link out to the document. This behavior will be consistent regardless of what data fills the first column. The previous behavior of clicking a row will no longer be the method to open a document; only the link will be selectable. This will allow users to open results in a separate window/tab and behave as normal links do in the rest of the system.
Proposal workload assignments
Based on user feedback we've made Improvements to the workload balancing tool to have all proposals immediately populate this card as soon as they begin routing. Previously it would only appear in this card if it was at the configured workflow priority stop set in the dashboard configuration. Proposals will stay in the card until they are fully approved. This will allow users to see all enroute proposals in this card for assignment. More information on the Proposal workload assignments card can be found in the Dashboard Home article.

Some of our users prefer the old UI approach where they can click anywhere on the row instead of having to click the first column. Often the columns these users prefer to display are blank, so that renders the display less functional for them because they can't click to open/view the record.
Is there a configuration option that would allow us to make the entire row clickable regardless of whether the first column/cell is blank as shown here:
Hi Jason,
This change was based on feedback in the below community forum topic and discussion in user group meetings. There is not a configuration option to also provide the other view. They would need to configure an identifier in the first row that always has an entry (i.e. document number, PI, etc).
