Background
When you configured CITI training in Kuali Research during your initial implementation, you selected the specific CITI training courses that should be available for display and functional use in each of your Kuali Research modules. If you need to include more CITI courses after your implementation is complete, the following steps have to be taken to setup the course in the system.
Configuring Courses
- Your CITI feed (sometimes called a CITI report) will include a unique Group ID for each group or curriculum. You can also access this in Kuali Research. In your PRD environment, go to All Links and search for Person Training CITI Record. You can narrow the results by selecting a user who has already completed the training that you want to add.
-
Once you have the CITI Group ID, go to All Links and search for Training. Create New for each new course. When creating the Training entry, the Training Code must be unique and cannot be shared with an existing entry.
-
Then return to All Links and search for Person Training CITI Mapping. Use the Group ID from step 1 to identify each new course. Edit each new course and link the Training entry you created in step 2.
-
Return to All Links and search for Training Modules. Create New for each course and link the Training entry you created in step 2.
-
Wait for the CITI job to run next - the default schedule is daily at 6 am, but this might be unique to your environment.
Training Integration with Kuali Research Modules
In Proposal it's visible in the Key Personnel section for each individual if training is configured and present for the user. More information on configuring this for Proposal Development can be found in the Training Types and Person Training article.
These training configurations can also be setup to integrate with the Kuali COI module as shown in COI - Training Integration or using the Training Form Gadget for COI or Protocol modules. We always recommend making template changes like this in your lower environment. If you configured the courses in your PRD environment, you will need to wait for the nightly clone to STG before testing templates changes in STG.
