Limiting Editing in Protocol Action Items When Researcher Visibility is Selected

In an effort to ensure greater electronic record security and compliance with federal regulations, Kuali Protocols has slightly modified the behavior of Action Items when the ‘Researcher’ option is selected on an Action Item’s Visibility.

Previously, Kuali Protocols allowed Admins to post Action Items, return a protocol back to a Researcher, and edit their original Action Item text while protocol changes were being made by Researchers. 

Currently, Admins will still be able to select any Visibility option on an Action Item, but as long as the ‘Researcher’ option is among those selections, an Admin will no longer be able to edit their original Action Item text once a ‘Return to Researcher’ or ‘Revisions Required’ action has been taken. 

In the image pasted above, note that the previously existing Kabob Menu in the Action Item that allowed Admins to ‘Edit’ or ‘Delete’ their Action Item has been removed.
