We wanted to highlight some new functionality and improvements recently released for Kuali Protocols. Below outlines these feature with some additional detail:
Auditor Role
We have added the new IRB Auditor, IACUC Auditor, and IBC Auditor roles. These roles give admin level view access to protocols without the ability to take any actions. These new roles could be used to facilitate auditors (or similar roles) protocol view access.
This includes the ability to view the protocol, full Activity Log (including viewing content limited to the admin like Notifications, Assigned Reviewers, etc.), any Action Item marked as visible to the Researcher, Action Item Summary, all Notes and Attachments, all Reportable Events linked to the Protocol, all Ancillary Review comments, and the ability to filter protocols by all fields in the form and all built in fields available to the Admin on the Manage Protocol screen. More information can be found in the Protocols - Managing Protocol Roles article.
Download All
We've added the 'Download All' option in the Protocol's Attachments section and Admin Notes & Files so you can now download all listed attachments in one action.

New Action Item Visibility Configuration option
A new configuration 'Action Item visibility defaults to include Assigned Reviewers' has been added to the "Permissions" section of IBC Configuration, IACUC Configuration, and IRB Configuration.
If enabled, when you create a new Action item, the "Assigned Reviewers" visibility will be selected by default. The user may still deselect it if desired.
Notify PI Updates
We have improved the 'Notify PI' functionality so now when a user initially clicks the 'Notify PI To Submit' it will run form validations first to alert the user of any errors that need to corrected first. If there are validation errors you will get a popup window to 'Show me' or 'Notify PI Anyways' to send a notification to the PI without addressing the errors. If there are no errors on the validation check it will send the 'Notify PI to Submit' notification set up in your Configurations.
This allows the user to clear any validation errors prior to notifying the PI the protocol is ready for review and submission. More information on this functionality can be found in the Protocols - Creating a Protocol article.
