Parameters - AUTO_GENERATE_PRINCIPAL_ID

Summary

The AUTO_GENERATE_PRINCIPAL_ID parameter allows users to manually define the Principal ID when they create a new Person.  When the parameter is set to "true" the Principal ID will be automatically assigned by the Kuali system when the user creates a new person.  When the parameter is set to "false" when a user creates a new person the Principal ID will appear as an editable field that is required to save the document and can be manually entered.

The AUTO_GENERATE_PRINCIPAL_ID Parameter Value accepts a single value:

Parameter Value	Description
false	A 'false' value when a user creates a new person the Principal ID will appear as an editable field that is required to save the document and can be manually entered.
true	A 'true' value the Principal ID will be automatically assigned by the Kuali system when the user creates a new person - default value.
