Over half of our customers are already using the Kuali Dashboard and taking advantage of the new interface and features. If you are not already using the Kuali Research Dashboard, as of January 1, 2021 Kuali will automatically update you to the dashboard experience!
To prepare you for this change, Kuali will be updating all SaaS SBX instances to the dashboard by October 1, 2020. For self-hosted schools, we encourage you to make the upgrade, but we will not be removing any code in the near term. Kuali will reassess self hosted in 2021 and communicate any plans with advanced warning then.
All of the old functionality and links still exist in the dashboard, as well as a lot of great new features. These first dashboard cards have a focus on providing transparency through all phases of the research lifecycle. You can find the current documentation on our Kuali Research Knowledge Base: Dashboard. Be sure to bookmark/follow this page and our Announcements section as this is where you will be able to learn about new functionality as it becomes available!
Many of you have also spoken up in our vibrant community forums and user groups to suggest improvements to the dashboard which would make adoption smoother at your institutions.
Based on this feedback, the follow enhancements are planned for release before January:
- Filtering for the following cards: Proposal Workload Assignments, “In Progress” cards and Proposals Routing to Me
- The ability for cards to toggle between everything I have the right to view and only items which the logged in user created (aka “all the things I own”)
- The ability for institutions to configure which cards should appear in the show/hide sections based on a permission.
