Often protocols have attachments that aren't associated with a specific protocol version but attachments related to the protocol as a whole (i.e specialized certificates/documentation, email threads relevant to the protocol, legacy data, etc.). These attachment can now be housed with the protocol via the Admin Attachments link in the Actions section available to the Admins. Only Protocol Admins can add, delete, and archive administrative attachments on a protocol and these are only visible to Admins by default. These attachments can be added/archived on the protocol at anytime and don't require a protocol action/version to make changes.
Using Admin Attachments
When logged into the system as a Protocol Admin and viewing a protocol in any state you will have the option of 'View Admin Attachments' in your Action buttons.
Upon clicking the 'View Admin Attachments' you will be given a pop-up window where you can view existing Admin Attachments that have been added or you can addition attachments as you needed.
Once clicking +Add you will have the option to drag or choose your attachment from your computer to add with an associated Description.
You can also indicate if you want this attachment to be visible to Researchers or Reviewers. If neither of these options are marked only the Admin will be able to view this attachment.
Once you 'Save' you will see the newly added attachment in your Admin Attachment window.
If you wish to remove attachments that are no longer relevant to the protocol you can click on the button to remove from the list. You can always toggle the Admin Attachments view between 'Show Archived' and 'Hide Archived'.
You also have the option to an attachments if you wish to bring it back as active.
