Overview
Often protocols have notes or files that aren't associated with a specific protocol version but notes and/or files related to the protocol as a whole (i.e specialized certificates/documentation, email threads relevant to the protocol, legacy data, etc.). These attachments and notes can be housed with the protocol via the Admin Notes & Files link in the Actions section available to the Admins. Only Protocol Admins can add, delete, and archive administrative attachments on a protocol and these are only visible to Admins by default. These attachments can be added/archived on the protocol at anytime and don't require a protocol action/version to make changes.
Using Admin Notes & Files
When logged into the system as a Protocol Admin and viewing a protocol in any state you will have the option of Admin Notes & Files in your Action buttons.
Upon clicking Admin Notes & Files you will be given a pop-up window where you can view existing Notes and Attachments that have been added or you can click +Add for addition attachments as you needed.
Once clicking +Add you will have the option to drag or choose your attachment from your computer to add with an associated Description. You can also add a note with the associated attachment or just do a note without uploading a file.
You can also indicate if you want this note/attachment to be visible to Researchers or Reviewers. If neither of these options are marked only the Admin will be able to view this attachment.
Once you Save you will see the newly added attachment in your Admin Notes & Files window. You can click on the individual linked attachment to open or use the 'Download All' to open all in one action.
If you wish to remove Notes or Files that are no longer relevant to the protocol you can click on the Archive button to remove from the list. You can always toggle the view between Show Archived and Hide Archived.
You also have the option to Unarchive an attachments if you wish to bring it back as active.
