The Backdoor login feature allows you to impersonate other users in the system. This is especially handy when testing roles/permission/workflow configurations (e.g. You can login as approvers to test the proposal approval routing path).
Backdoor login functionality in SBX is driven by the following parameter:
There are no additional roles/permissions that drive this functionality, and the Backdoor login feature is completely disabled / not available in Production (it doesn't matter what the parameter SHOW_BACK_DOOR_LOGIN_IND is set to).
Using Backdoor Login
To impersonate another user in Kuali Research:
From the Kuali Homepage, click the System Admin Portal:
In the screen that displays, click the arrow next to the User: <username> (e.g. User:quickstart) to display a login box.
Enter the username of the user you want to impersonate and click the [Login] button.
You will be brought back to the Kuali Research home page. In the top left hand corner of the screen you will see a message: ‘Backdoor Id ________ is in use’ letting you know that you have successfully logged in as that user.
